the disabilities trust
The Disabilities
Trust is a fast-growing charity offering a wide range
of innovative services to people with disabilities.
Founded in 1979, we offer high quality
services to meet the individual needs of:
- children and adults with autism
- people with an acquired brain injury
- adults with a profound physical disability
- adults with a learning disability
Our services for children and adults with
autism include Heathermount, our first learning centre for
children and young people with autism aged from 5-19.
We also offer two purpose-built residential
centres, Hollyrood and Dyson’s Wood, offering intensive
support to many people with autism, including those with challenging
behaviour.
Our community-based housing projects
give people with autism the chance to live in the wider community
with all the support they need. We are looking to develop
further projects of this kind across the UK, working in partnership
with local partners to meet local needs.
